Schedule Facilitation process

Schedule facilitation process takes place at an IATA Level 2 airport, where there is a potential for congestion during some periods of the day, week or season and which can be resolved by schedule adjustments mutually agreed between the airlines and facilitator. The schedules facilitation process is based on a process of schedule adjustments mutually agreed between the airlines and facilitator to avoid exceeding the airport’s coordination. No slots are allocated at a Level 2 airport. The facilitator should adjust the smallest number of operations by the least amount of time necessary to avoid exceeding the airport’s coordination parameters The airlines andother aircraft operators must advise the facilitator of all planned operations prior to operating at a Level 2 airport and of all changes to planned operations. Airlines and other aircraft operators must not intentionally operate at a significantly different time or in a significantly different way than agreed with the airport schedules facilitator.

IATA Slot Conference

The Slot Conference (SC) is a working conference as part of the slot allocation process. The Schedule Conference (SC) takes place every June for the Winter season and every November for the Summer season and its purpose is to provide a forum for the allocation of slots at fully coordinated airports (Level 3), and for the reaching of consensus on the schedule adjustments necessary to conform to airport capacity limitations (Level 2). Coordinators, Schedule facilitators and Airlines from all over the world attend the SC with the goal of improving their schedules on all airports.
