Hamad International Airport: Facts and figures

  • Passenger Traffic: HIA handled 54.3 million passengers in 2025, a 3% year-on-year increase, with August exceeding 5 million passengers, the busiest month on record.
  • Aircraft movements: 282,975 take-offs and landings were recorded, up 1% year-on-year, with 85% on-time performance.
  • Cargo: Cargo handling reached 2.59 million tones in 2025, reflecting a slight decline in line with global market trends.
  • Airlines Networks: The network expanded to 57 airline partners, welcoming Virgin Australia, Georgian Airways and Smartwings, and supporting new destinations including Aleppo and the Red Sea region.
  • Point-to-point traffic: Direct passenger volumes to and from Doha reached 13.5 million, a 5.4% year-on-year increase.
  • Infrastructure Development: Concourses D and E opened in 2025, adding 17 contact gates to enhance capacity and operational resilience.
